Pre-Consultation Information.
Prior to a consultant from Hot Spots Thermal Imaging arriving to
image a horse, there are a few things that need to be done to
ensure your consultation is of the highest possible quality.
Firstly we require an area out of the Sun and Rain, both of
which will affect the accuracy of the imaging being done, a stable
or a shed will be ideal. If you do not have access to a suitable
area, give me a call to discuss suitable alternatives. We do not
need power on site, I am fully mobile.
Secondly the horses body temperature needs to be normalised,
ideally in the stable for an hour or more, prior to us arriving,
with no bandages, covers or other items on.
If the horse must be outside prior to the visit, it is
preferable to have a light cover on, to avoid direct sunlight on
the coat. It is also preferable that the horse is not put in a
situation where it will become extremely upset and break out in
sweat.
You may ride after the imaging is done, the imaging will in no
way alter your horse or its ability. All I do is take photo's, like
a digital camera.
Things that will affect the imaging.
- Wet - Rain/Washing, or any reason the horse is wet
- Dry sweat
- Caked on mud, or any other sort of caked on thing
(poultice)
- Magnetic, or Ceramic wraps or covers, immediately prior to
consult
- Riding immediately prior
- Also any sort of intense muscle massage or chiro, may alter
images
- Standing on very hot ground on a very hot day, shade is
desirable.

If you need to discuss any of these
points, give us a call, only too happy to help. Sometimes other
situations work fine, and we can discuss your requirements on a one
by one basis.
